The Gospel is a term that means “good news” and refers to the accounts of the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Gospels are part of the New Testament of the Bible and there are four: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Each of these Gospels offers a unique perspective on the life of Jesus.
The Gospel of Matthew focuses on the prophecies that are fulfilled in Jesus, while Mark is the shortest and most direct. Luke, on the other hand, emphasizes Jesus’ mercy and love for the poor and marginalized. John presents a more spiritual and theological view of Jesus.
The Gospels are fundamental to the Christian faith, as they tell the story of how God acted in the world through Jesus to offer salvation to humanity.
